Flames of Manhattan Island

H.G.Wells classic " The War in the Air" from 1911 belongs to his lesser known novels, so I feel really happy to have finished this key scene of the story, where the author vividly describes how a mighty fleet of Airships unleashes a devastating bombardment over New York.

"As the airships sailed along they smashed up the city as a child will shatter its cities of brick and card."
